The project, which carries a contract value of $12.8 million, involves milling the existing S9.5D roadway surface and replacing it with an Asphalt bonded wearing course. Prior to milling, subcontractors are responsible for painting the steel girders and applying polyester polymer to the concrete decking on three existing bridges. 100 percent of all work on the project will be conducted at night, from 9pm to 6am. Project Managers will implement new traffic control technology to ensure the safety of crews, including sequential barricade lamps and presence-detection lights installed at 700-foot intervals alongside the roadway. Final completion for the project is scheduled for September of 2019.
